Real Estate Phase One
The Condominium at Rutherford Trace will consists of three very distinctive buildings: The Golf Tower, the Golf Terraces, and the Turnpike Cove Terraces. These buildings will have a lobby connecting into the slope system. Together with the Beach Houses (Phase Two) and Turnpike Village (Phase One, see there) it will form the Golf Neighborhood. All of these condominiums will have an access to the golf course by golf car. The Golf Tower and the Golf Terraces will have their private street access, connecting to Asheville Hwy. The Golf Terraces will feature a car elevator connecting to the maintenance area of the golf course and to the Caddy Way, which is a two-lanes street serving the golf course. The Caddy Way will have two connections into the Canton Wintersports Center; one to East Canton Hwy at the Happy Hollow Slope, and one to Turnpike at the eastern tip of the resorts. A short cut through the golf course will connect the Caddy Way to the Turnpike Cove Terraces; however, the main street access into the Turnpike Cove Terraces will be Winter Valley, a side street of East Canton Hwy, which ends in the condominium apartment levels (see floor plans on the right side). The Golf Tower connects the Happy Hollow Head Building, and the Golf Terraces. The design will be similar as employed in the Condominium in Chestnut Cove, with a longer side facing the Happy Hollow Slope, and a shorter side facing the street. The lobby of the building will have a walkout to the slope, and a walkout to the street. At roof level, the Golf Tower will have the walkout to the Lower Golf Terrace, and to the lobby of the Golf Terraces. Parking spaces will be provided in an automated multilevel parking below the building. The building will be part of the structural supports for the snow dome. The Golf Tower will house 48 condominium apartments.
The Golf Terraces will be built into a natural steep hill. The top of the hill will roughly feature the altitude of the golf course; the lower (street) level will form the Lower Golf Terrace. The 80 condominium apartments in the Golf Terraces will be very prestigious. The base unit is planned at 3,490 square feet, with private car elevator and five oversized parking spaces each behind the condominium apartments. The resulting privacy will be insurmountable. The owners of the apartments will not even have to see the security guards; however, a sensor will indicate the occupancy of the condominium apartment in the security center, and the owner will have to give a signal if he would not like to have a visit of the security guards in the next minute. The condominium apartments will come with a VIP golf club membership. The Lower Golf Terrace and the lobby will have walkouts to the Happy Hollow Slope. The Upper Golf Terrace will be built on a swimming floor, preventing noise pollution in the residential part of the building. The terraces are designed a way to prevent curious glimpses from any direction except from aircraft. The Golf Terraces will house 80 large condominium apartments. The Turnpike Cove Terraces will connect between two natural steep hills in front of and below the Wintersports Stadium. The elevation of the condominium apartments will face the golf course. The backsides will open a corridor with doors to the parking, to the slope system, and to the tourism attractions of Phases Two and Phase Three. Canton Lake will be maximum three minutes away.
Some parts of the Turnpike Cove Terraces will be occupied by functions of the Wintersports Stadium (see floor plans in the layout table). The access streets both, Winter Valley and Caddy Way will be private, making the Turnpike Cove Terraces a gated community. Together, the Turnpike Cove Terraces will feature 66 townhouses, and 406 condominium apartments.
